Here's a close up of the uneven mounted hammers.

I thought this had something to do with some sort of uneven mounting, but after removing one of the hammer modules I found that the individual hammers are uneven in the plastic housing itself. Here's a picture of the hammers hanging free in a removed hammer module. Is this normal?

Close examination also revealed the extent of the deterioration of the hammer tips as well. And, yes, that's dirt all over the hammers.

I removed and laid aside the hammer and damper assemblies which left only the case, the action rail, and the wooden frame with the keyboard guide pins.

I removed the action rail and set it aside.
