1. Where in the world do you call home?
I am currently living in England, Arizona and Virginia. (not at the same time)

2. How would you best decribe you music and who would it most appeal to?
I find it hard to describe my music. As to who it might appeal to, I have many fans who are also prog fans (Yes, Kate Bush, Genesis, Rush, and Jethro Tull to name five), certain space aliens, conspiracy theorists, mystics, crop circle enthusiasts, neptunians, plutonians, uranians...

3. You recently released your new album Something About Driving. Tell us a little bit about it.
It was recorded live at various concerts on the 1999 Jethro Tull tour. It is primarily a solo acoustic record with a few tunes that feature members of Tull backing me up. It is a bit of a travelogue, complete with a road map of the tour, bits from my scrapbook, pictures, and lots of between song stories and raps. It is very much a true live CD in that it has very little editing, no overdubs, lots of feeling and a few bad notes. Just like me.

4. Where do you get the inspiration for the songs that you perform?
From the ongoing urge to communicate things I can't communicate. To invent a new mood that I need, but can't find in the world (like when you really crave something, but you don't know what it is). It feels good to create.

5. How do you feel after doing a show?
I am usually very punchy right after a show. I rarely know what to do with myself right after a show. I can hardly spell my name after a show, so it's definitely not a good time to do interviews. If I had my way, I would like to dance.

6. Last year you toured with Jethro Tull. How did that feel?
It was like having your wildest, fondest dream come true, and it still is.

7. During your shows you break up the songs with little anecdotes of your life. Is your life really this bizarre?
Yes.

8. If your songs could appear in the soundtrack of any TV series, what would it be and why?
I haven't owned a TV for 14 years, so I'm not too up on what's on these days. Hmmmm...

9. Do you have any plans to tour the UK and Europe in the near future?
I would like very much to tour in the UK and Europe. At this time, I am hoping to find a good agent. I have taken a deliberate break from performing for the past several months to focus on recording the new CD with Andrew Giddings producing. I am planning to tour some in the US this summer and hopefully, in the UK and Europe this Fall.

10. Who designs the promotional image of you, i.e., album covers, etc?
I have designed most of my promo pieces, although AG did the layout for Something About Driving.

11. What do you love/hate most about being on the road?
I love the alone time driving (I love to drive!)... I listen to books on tape and write and talk to myself and all kinds of things. I love travelling and playing in new places. I don't like being in cities too much. I have gotten used to the beauty and simplicity of the country. I miss having good places to hike and, of course, it is hard to find anything edible on the road.

12. At what age did you first become interested in singing?
Very early, at around age 7, at summer camp. I remember sitting around the campfire and people urging me to sing, but as I was very shy. I had my sleeping bag over my head and would just sing very softly.

13. As well as singing you play a wide range of instruments. Tell us about the instruments you use to bring your songs to life.
Actually, I only play guitar. (that was a quote in my bio that mentions all the exotic instruments I had on Blue Apples... they were played by other exotic people) I do try to make the guitar sound like other instruments at times with open tunings.

14. You've won awards for your music in the past. What were they?
I have won 3 WAMMIES (Washington DC music awards) for best CD and female vocalist for contemporary folk and new age. I have been nominated for several others, including a NAIRD award for Blue Apples.

15.With mega stardom right around the corner, what do you have planned next for Vyktoria Pratt Keating?
I am still working on the new CD with Andrew Giddings. The record is sounding great, and I am very happy with it. I have been writing some new stuff. I always want to write better songs. I have been enjoying life in England. Tonight, I am going to watch my new UFO video and have spaghettis hoops.
