New CD, Summer Tour
As you may have noticed from this website's frontpage (no, really?), Vyktoria has a new CD! It's called Something About Driving and is a compilation of live performances from her 1999 Jethro Tull support tour.
Here's what Ms. Vyk has to say to y'all about the CD:
Hi folks!
I'm very excited about this new CD. I have wanted to put out a live recording for a long time. Little did I know it would be from such an amazing chapter in my life. The Jethro Tull tour was everything I hoped it would be and a thousand times more. This new CD captures the feel of the tour and the joy and intensity I experienced both on stage and off.
Each song resonates with the moment... and I chose these versions remembering how I felt while I played them. There's lots of between song banter... so much, in fact, that the intros have their own track numbers... and keeping with the spirit of the tour, the CD kicks off with the nightly "this is the disembodied voice of Ian Anderson..." intro as well. Songs are a mix of old and new, including favorites "Spider," "Voice & the Drum," and "NY 10-11-91," and as an added bonus, Ian Anderson is featured playing flute on "Do We Entrain," and Tull boys Andrew Giddings and Doane Perry are also featured on a couple of tracks.
Big thanks, by the way, to Andrew Giddings who designed the CD artwork. It's a cute, fun "Vyk on the road" kind of format with lots of pics and cartoons.
Once again, thanks to all of you for your support during the tour and I look forward to seeing you again the next time I perform in your area!
Merry meet again,
Vyktoria
Speaking of performing in your area (what a segue!), Vyktoria's US summer tour begins June 3rd at Magic Mountain Music Festival in Artemis, PA and continues throughout the East coast until August.
More giggage is in the works for the Western half of the US in late summer through the fall. Mosey on down and say howdy-do when she's in your area!
